Introduction
This week we will be focusing on multiplication. We will learn the 2, 5, and 10 times tables, and practice multiplying numbers up to 12 × 12.
By the end of this week, you should be able to recall and use multiplication facts for the 2, 5, and 10 times tables.
Learning Objectives
- Recall and use multiplication facts for the 2, 5 and 10 multiplication tables, including recognising odd and even numbers
- Calculate mathematical statements for multiplication within the multiplication tables and write them using the multiplication (×) and equals (=) signs
- Show that multiplication of two numbers can be done in any order (commutative)
- Solve problems, including missing number problems, involving multiplication and division, including positive integer scaling problems and correspondence problems in which n objects are connected to m objects

Total = 30 marks
Remember that multiplication is repeated addition. For example, 3 ×
4 means 4 + 4 + 4.
Use arrays or groups to help visualize multiplication. For example,
2 rows of 5 apples make 10 apples.
